speed up your firefox

Here’s something for that will really speed Firefox up:

1.Type “about:config” into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining 


network.http.proxy.pip
elining 

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set “network.http.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.proxy.pipelining” to “true”

Set “network.http.pipelining.maxrequests” to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it “nglayout.initialpaint.delay” and set its value to “0″. This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it receives.

If you’re using a broadband connection you’ll load pages MUCH faster now!

Firefox 4 is going to keep the leadership



With the release date of the new Firefox 4, more and more information on the new contestant in the race for the best browser become available. The new spider monkey seems more and more to be really worthy replacement for the version 3 of the software. With the new compiler incorporated in the engine, the Jager Monkey JIT compiler, everything happens much faster and requires less memory than before. The highly optimized code allow much faster opening of pages, faster java code compiling and running, and everything with less RAM used, with less CPU cycles than every other browser.







The new code and compiler are so good they are more than three times faster than the old beta of Firefox 4 and the final 3.6.2. Such difference, even considering the fact it was achieved on the internal benchmark, is sure to make the fans of the orange fox happy. Every page containing java and most of the flash based games will work faster and much more reliably. And the creators of the browser promise an even faster version before it is finalized.
Another speed advantage will be the incorporate DirectX or OpenGL hardware acceleration. DirectX will be used to make the browser render faster the 3D content under Windows 7 and Windows XP (the latter is not possible with any other browser), while OpenGL will be used under MacOS and the future Linux versions. With the 3D content available on more and more web sites, this is certainly a great step forward.



The new version will not need additional plugins to better handle open tabs memory footprint, as included will be an (advanced) option of minimizing the memory occupied by the application by keeping only a few of the recently opened tabs in it. This approach was needed, a single web page can consume a large amount of memory, with the system becoming slower and slower with each new one cached in memory. On the other hand the advancements of home broadband connections do allow much faster reloading if the user decides to back to it.
Other changes have happened in the Panorama mode, with a help video to introduce users to the feature and a new search button.
Overall feel of the new beta 7 is that the product is near completion, but the release date is still set for January 2011 to allow time for bugfixes and optimization.

Google launched URL shortening service

Google has released an API (application programming interface) for its Goo.gl URL shortening service, the company said in a blog post. Goo.gl is a URL shortener (like Bit.ly or TinyURL.com) released by Google in December 2009. And in late September last year, Goo.gl was made public for all to use.


A useful feature of Goo.gl URL shortener is that not only does it shrink long URL or Web addresses into small, shareable links, it also keeps track of all shortened URLs and analytics data tied to your Google account. Google confirmed that external third-party developers will be able to give users access to their Goo.gl URL shortening history in any app that uses the Google URL shortening API.
Google's Ben D'Angelo wrote this in a blog post announcing the Goo.gl API for third-party developers, "You could use these features for a wide variety of applications, enabling behaviors ranging from auto-shortening within Twitter or Google Buzz clients to running regular jobs that monitor your usage statistics and traffic patterns."

While this is good news for heavy users of Twitter and Google Buzz or other micro-blogging sites through third-party apps like TweetDeck or others, McAfee predicts increased URL-shortening exploits as a prime security threat for 2011.

Step 1:- now go to start and open the Run window type regedit a new window press yes and then enter a new window will pop up i.e window registry window that looks like this:-


Step 2:- now look at the left part of window n follow the following sequence/parth:-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> Microsoft >> Windows >> CurrentVersion >> Explorer >> MyComputer >> NameSpace

now make a right click on the name space and then the following sequence as shown in the figure:-
